Molokai

People have been asking us about the price of gas on Hawaii. It's always higher there than on the mainland. On Maui it was $4.48 and $4.58 on Molokai, but I imagine it is already higher than that now.

The first photo Steve is standing on Papohaku Beach, at 3 miles long is the longest white sand beach in all of Hawaii. The Purdy Macadamia Nut Farm has the best nuts, they're dry roasted and have a very unique flavor compared to the ones cooked with oils you find in the grocery store. http://www.molokai.com/eatnuts They'll give you a tour and let you taste a raw nut. We had the tour last time so we just bought some fresh Macadamia nuts.

The last 3 photos were taken at the annual Hula festival, which was the main reason for us going to Molokai in the first place. The Hula dance supposedly originated on the island of Molokai, so they celebrate the dance each year. They have food & craft booths and Hula dancers from all over the South Pacific. If you've ever been to a Luau, the dancing is rather commercialized. Here, you get a little history told by a narrator and local dancers doing dances with a story behind them. It was fun.
