Our nick-name for our mountain condo is Condo Beyondo. We've had our condo for 14 years now and I really can't remember how we came up with the nick name. I think it came from an old Bette Middler show called Mondo Beyondo. Anyway, when we bought our condo, we loved the thick forest we had as a view from the back of our place. In the past few years, there has been a nasty pine beetle that has killed virtually all of the lodge pole pines in all of Summit County. So for the past few years we've seen our nice forest view turn into an ugly dead forest view. The forest service has ordered all pine beetle killed trees to be downed and removed, 400' from any condo. This is a fire prevention measure. They finished taking down the trees behind our condo in the fall. So for those folks who have visited our place in the mountains, these photos will seem strange. Since they've removed all the dead pines, we now have a fabulous view!!!! We can see Keystone's North Peak, Peak 8 at Breckenridge, and Peak One in Frisco as well as a clearer view of Buffalo Mountain. We also have discovered a family of foxes living behind us and many more birds than we've ever seen here. The first photo is what I saw first thing this morning - zoomed in 10x. That's Peak One in Frisco. With the morning light hitting it - it is just too pretty not to photograph it. The second photo is our condo building from the back. And the last 2 photos are of Buffalo Mountain in the background with our hiking trails in the foreground. It really has changed our views, as well as our hiking trails.
