My cousin Oddbjorn and his wife Turid, came to visit us late September. They live in Porsgunn, Norway. I had not seen them since I visited Norway 10 years ago with my Mom (who was born in Norway) & my sister Diane. They had never been to Colorado before and they could not have picked a better time to visit. The Aspens were in their full golden luster and the weather was grand. We thought it would be best if they stayed at our house for a couple of nights to get used to the altitude, which is almost 6,000". Our condo is around 9,200". The day after they arrived we went to Colorado Springs. We've lived in Colorado 19 years and we've never been to the top of Pikes Peak!! So, we thought it would be fun to take the cog railway up to the top, rather than drive to the top. The road is gravel and not too fun to drive on we heard. The railway was really the way to go. Here are some photos from that fun day. The views from the top were spectacular. As you can see how we were dressed, it was mighty cold & windy up there!
