Moon rise
Yesterday, on our way home from skiing, we drove on the Dam Road by Lake Dillon. The moon was rising over the mountains, with wispy clouds beneath it. Very pretty! In the top photo you can see that the mountains in the background have a lot of dead pine trees. There's a pine beetle that has been destroying virtually all of the lodge pole trees in Colorado. It's sad, but there's nothing you can do about them. It would take many weeks of 20-30 below temps to kill them. On the bright side, we'll eventually have a view of the mountains from the back of our condo. In the 2nd photo, that's frozen Lake Dillon with the town of Dillon in the background.
