We were invited by Diane and Gordy to the rehearsal dinner on Friday night so we stayed at Gordon's hotel 2 nights. He works at the Hyatt on Wacker Drive. He set us up with a beautiful suite we shared with Mom. The first photos are taken from our room on the 28th floor, followed by photos we took on our long walk around the shorelines of Lake Michigan on Saturday. The first photo shows the Trump Tower complex, where the wedding and reception took place. We walked to the Shedd Aquarium along the lake and then walked through the Taste of Chicago on the way back to the hotel. It was such a gorgeous day. Then at 6:30 we attended the spectacular wedding of Gordon, my nephew and godson, and his beautiful wife Lisa. It took place at the Trump Towers, which is a very new building. Everything was a treat to all of our senses. Starting with the wedding, which was very nice. Luke, Gordon's godson and nephew, was the ring bearer. He did a terrific job. And as you can see from other photos, he and I had a great time together.
The reception was so pretty and adorned with magenta pink, Lisa's favorite colors. The tables were beautifully decorated with magnificent fresh flower center pieces. The food was all unbelievably delicious, from the appetizers to the carrot cake dessert. The band was the best wedding bands I've ever heard. When they took their break, it just happened to be at the exact time they were launching fireworks off Navy Pier!!! People were asking Larry, the father of the bride, if that was pre-arranged! LOL. It was all so much fun and we have lots of great memories to last us a lifetime. Now the bride and groom are enjoying a well deservered vacation in Aruba.
