This is the last photo of one of the babies before they flew the coup.
We recently had the pleasure of viewing a robin's nest with 2 babies. They had a nice nest high on our next door neighbor's deck. We had a clear view of it from our kitchen window by our sink. The nest had a nice covering to protect it from the elements. When the babies were pretty small, I happen to be looking at the nest and 3' from the nest was a hawk, ready to pounce and have a snack. I called to Steve, who was in the back yard, and he quickly took the water hose and sprayed the hawk away. Close call!! Last Friday they flew the coup. Since then one of the parents and baby have been living in our back yard. It has been fun to see the parents feeding the plump fluffy babies. Our back yard has a lot of trees, which helps shield the birds from predators.
