As some of your know, the evening before Steve was scheduled to fly to Ithaca to visit his parents, his Mom passed away in her sleep. Prior to Steve's arrival Mom had completed a present for our wedding anniversary. She had it sealed in an envelope with the following note on the outside:Steve's Dad presented it to him while he was there. We opened it last week and we thought we'd share this very special gift. The drawing was colored meticulously by Mom. She knows we love golden retrievers and she loves birds, so it's a perfect picture. It is a treasured gift.

Oh, how sweet! And touching! Funny, Steve Rodger's mom, Jan, calls him Steven. I guess that's what they named these guys, and they prefer Steven to Steve. XO
