This past Wednesday I hiked part of the Mesa Cortina trail with my friend Constance. We hiked to this stream and had lunch. We had a bonus while we were dining, live entertainment. All of a sudden a group of about 12 people on horses came prancing out of the forest, across the stream, and up the hill. The bridge would've been too dangerous for the horses to go on. They were pretty to see. The last photo is a Mariposa Lily or Star Tulip. There were several of these on the open spaces of this trail. It was a nice hike in spite of getting caught in the rain on the way back.
